DANZIG : DETH RED SABAOTH

Evilive/The End

2010 certainly has been the year for ‘comeback’ albums, and here then, is the first new studio album in six years (since 2004’s “Circle Of Snakes”), and finds Fonzig in blistering form both vocally and lyrically. Prong mainman and guitarist Tommy Victor is back again, alongside ToN’s Johnny Kelly on drums, and the legendary Samhain’s Steve Zing on bass guitars.

I say Steve Zing is back… well, he is as regards touring, but it’s Glenn himself who handles all bass duties throughout the album. This album is, to coin a cliché… All Killer No Filler! It’s a balls to the wall fuck off rock ‘n’ roll force majeure, and is an absolutely timeless modern classic! Which is in itself something of a contradiction, as the album is a total return to the old ‘classic’ Danzig sound we have all been howling for! All of which makes my head hurt!

To pick out any tracks for particular praise seems churlish, as from beginning to end, the album rocks like a motherfucker! Bristling with uncompromising attitude, muscular rhythm work, hard as nails riffs, and Glenn’s lycanthropic howls and wails… I get goose-bumps just listening to this aural Master-class in Devilish blues ‘n’ roll. Just fan-fucking-tastic! Every single one of these eleven songs is so perfect that it’s almost unreal. This is a clear cut frontrunner for ‘album of the year 2010, and surely re-establishes Evil Elvis to his rightful throne as King of the Horror-Rockers!

BREATH-TAKING!
