FOR RUIN: I like to hear hooks and riffs that i can remember and the best songs are full of them.
FOSCOR: All is connected from each album to the previous one… and the next one... like a labyrinth of doors opened which takes you to new directions.
PROFANE PRAYER: Are there really advantages in being a black metal band from Greece? If there are I don’t think I’m aware of them.

ARTILLERY: We have been playing together with new very young bands who knew all Artillery’s songs, and they are young enough to be our sons!

ARCHIMAGE: I'm not a religious person, but I guess the ideal of a 'religious experience' is built into all people, and at some black metal gigs that feeling is very much present.

ORTHODOX DIVINITY - Raw music has a mysterious and intense atmosphere to it, which adds to the enjoyment.

GUTHRUM - I often think of historical events that have taken place or the lives and background of our ancestry and heritage because I find it riveting and enthralling but whatever it is that posses me to spark a soundtrack from my imagination is something I’m yet to figure out.
PENSEES NOCTURNES - Nothing we do has an existential foundation aside from spending time. As if life comes down to everything that allows us to forget life…

THE HELHEIM SOCIETY - As far as I know we were the first band ever to combine black metal and electronic music. I guess you can say we are pioneers in that sense.
THRESHOLD SICKS - Expect metal for individuals, and for people who grew up on metal.
PESTILENT GRAVE - Black metal is capable of expressing raw animal emotion and various ideologies in their most basic for to an extent that no other genre is capable.

04/05/09
Solacide - Many black metal bands are too narrow-minded to explore anything that is not strictly black metal.

CONTEXT - A complex song already kicks ass for being complex. To do the simple, catchy song... that's hard.
BELTANE - Our recording process is much more like an artist painting a picture, with the varying instruments being essentially different sound palettes
IZEGRIM - We've gone back to basics, we are more thrashy... more 'us'

WARPATH- The fact that Warpath is a very fast, technical and aggressive-sounding back just shows how angry and pissed-off we are at everything!
SKIN INFECTION- We have our own sound and it constantly develops towards unknown territories.
PLECTO ALIQUEM CAPITE- We will be becoming more and more experimental with time. Or in other words, we will be trying to explore different ways to send chills up the listener's spine.

KADAVER- Kadaver is the draining of the pus of my hate, anger, pain and sadness through cold electronics.
SOLUS- Black metal comes from the deep forests, and rises from the moonlight.

MANIAC: I explore the feeling of meeting a polar bear without a gun. Meeting life as it is.
SLEEP RESEARCH FACILITY: The digital environment allows for allows for infinite permutations of noise, there is literally no end to the possibilities that can be conjured up from ANY sound.

BAHN (ABALAM/SLITVEIN)- Like punk, black metal really has no boundaries, and that's what makes it exciting.
ETHEREAL FOREST- You can do a lot within this style, and it is felt, because it comes from the heart.
IMMOLITH (COFFIN/IMMOLITH)- All spirituality, all religion, all of it, is utter fiction.
AMAROC- I'm one of those guys who try to think a little bit outside the box.

ELIMI- "I just love to use metaphors in my creation"
MYSTICAL FULLMOON- "Things have to evolve, to progress, to transform, it's a natural law and we can't deny it"
COUNT BEETLE- "I have found that I am an outsider even to outsiders, and condemned perhaps to the most obscure of shadows"
ELITE- "We've always liked challenges, and we continuously challenge ourselves musically"
DANIEL JANSSON (DEADWOOD/KEPLERS ODD)- "I don't like the idea of force-feeding people with what I experienced when creating the music"
GOTHICK- "There are times when the groove becomes all-consuming, and you are locked into this other place. At those times it is very ritualistic, very shamanistic"
